August 11, 1948 – January 7, 1970
Duane graduated from St. Pius High School and was drafted in 1969 into the U.S. Army along with his good friend Lonnie Coleman who was killed in the Vietnam War. While completing some additional extensive training in the service, Duane died from a cerebral hemorrhage at Fort Leonard Wood in 1970.
Duane was a good person, friend and brother, Mom’s favorite out of five kids. He was the youngest of four brothers and two sisters. Four of his siblings have passed away. He is survived by his brother Gerry and his sister Mary Ellen.
His interests were fast cars; he owned a 1966 Chevelle, a 1968 GTO to name a few. He always had girl friends. He was an avid Little League player. He worked at PPG a short time before he was drafted.
