May 2, 1948 – August 30, 2015
Timothy Allen Bahr was a hard working man. He never missed a day of high school in four years. He was an Eagle Scout, had a paper route, cut grass and worked at Bradford’s store on Bailey Road in Crystal City. Tim graduated from St. Benedict’s College in Atchison Kansas. He worked up on the Great Lakes for a few years. Tim was a supervisor for two different companies for over 35 years. He loved to travel. We back-packed through the Grand Canyon two different times, and he also traveled to Hawaii.
On Saturday mornings Tim would cook breakfast for my younger brother Ted and me. We would talk about what work needed to be done that day. Tim loved working with the whole family. Tim always drove the tractors.
Our whole family lived here on the farm. Tim was right across the driveway from us. We would have dinner together, go see a movie, or he would come over and watch a movie with us.
Tim never married but he also never missed out on family fun, like the time his two nieces took all of his clothing and gave them away because they thought that he was still living in the 1960’s. They took him to the store and made him buy new clothes. He shook his head and smiled. We still laugh about that.
Tim never got to retire. Sometimes, I think he did not want to retire because he liked working so much.
Six weeks after the doctor’s told Tim that he had cancer, he passed away August 30, 2015.
