With heavy hearts, we announce that Ellen Louise Fox, nee Meyer entered a place of eternal peace and reunion with her beloved husband, Richard Fox. She was a beacon of love and kindness in all our lives. Beloved daughter of the late Hubert and Irma Meyer, Ellen was a cherished sister to her eight siblings, a devoted mother to Benjamin and Paul, and a guiding star to her eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Though we mourn the loss of her son Brian, we find comfort in knowing they are reunited.
Ellen’s legacy is one of compassion and service, reflected in her impactful career as a social worker after her studies at Southeast Missouri State and UMSL where she achieved a Bachelor’s degree. Her warmth extended beyond her family, touching the lives of countless individuals in her community.
A lover of life’s simple pleasures, Ellen found joy in the aroma of freshly baked goods and the freedom of a bike ride through nature’s paths. Above all, her greatest delight was in the laughter and stories shared with family and friends.
As we bid farewell to Ellen, we celebrate the profound impact she made on each of us. Her spirit, a blend of resilience and grace, will forever inspire us to live fully and love deeply.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Ellen’s memory by contributing to the American Cancer Society, a cause close to her heart.
Please join us in commemorating Ellen’s remarkable journey through life at St. John Paul II Catholic Church on May 31, 2024, where we will have a memorial mass at 9:45am followed by a committal service at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 11:15am.
