Students at St. Pius X come from several different counties. Accessing the free resources at the public library serving their city is a great way to supplement the resources available through the St. Pius library. Most of the area libraries offer access to the following:
Databases--Most public libraries offer remote access to databases such as EBSCOHost and the Gale databases, as well Learning Express Library. All you need is your library card for your public library.
Learning Express Library--Often this resource is included with the databases; sometimes it is offered on its own. It is a collection of test preparation exercises and practice tests for the ACT, SAT, GED, GRE, LSAT, TOEFL, and Advanced Placement.
eBooks--The Missouri Libraries 2 Go Consortium offers a wide assortment of eBooks and audiobooks for free download through most public libraries.
Most public libraries offer non-resident library cards for a fee ranging from $5 to $50. Before you buy one, verify what resources you will have access to. Some non-resident cards will give access to books but not databases or eBooks.
