February 16, 1948 – December 17, 2020
Margaret (Bailey) Joseph at the age of 72 died at her home in Kentucky on December 17, 2020, following four days in the hospital with fluid on her lungs and heart failure. She was released after two blocked arteries were corrected with stents and was told that her heart was good to go home. After working for two half-days, she died in her sleep.
Margaret met her husband, Eddie Joseph at college. They had their first date in October of their freshman year. It was on Eddie’s 18th birthday. After graduation, Margaret and Eddie were married. They moved to Louisville, KY where she was a French teacher with Jefferson County Public Schools for 18 years. She left teaching to become a pastoral associate at both St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St. Francis Xavier Parishes. Her passion for this ministry was obvious when she spoke about her work during the Class of 1966 50th Class Reunion.
Margaret and Eddie were married 49 years. They had four children and two grandchildren at the time of Margaret’s death.
Although she was Margaret to her Sacred Heart Grade School and St. Pius X High School friends, she became Margee to her friends and family in Kentucky.
