Mary Gaye (Linderer) Goodwin, was born July 13, 1948. She grew up in Crystal City, MO and graduated from Sacred Heart Grade School and St. Pius X High School. Mary Gaye contracted polio at the age of three, but fortunately survived the ordeal without any permanent disabilities. During her childhood she was an adamant lover of horses and anything to do with them, a love that lasted well into her later life. She met and married Steve Goodwin a year after she graduated high school, a marriage that would last
52 years until Jan. 8, 2019 when Steve passed away. Mary joined him less than two months later onMarch 1, 2019. Mary and Steve had three children during their marriage, Stephanie, Courtney and Steve, Jr.
Mary Gaye married Steve Goodwin in 1967 and were best friends until they died within two months of each other in 2019. Mary Gaye was always involved in civic affairs and she was co-chair of the St. Pius auction for its first 10 years. She and her husband always were civic minded – not a lazy bone in her body.
